As an old scholar myself, I am honoured to be the President of the »ÆÉ«app Old Scholars Committee, supporting a school that served me so well between 1985 and 1997.
Having joined the Old Scholars Committee several years ago, I have very much enjoyed working with and learning from past Presidents Weng Wong and Amanda Price-McGregor, the Executive and other committee members – it is a great team environment.
The role of the »ÆÉ«app Old Scholars Association is to promote unity and friendship among old scholars through events, reunions and our various and growing social media platforms. For those who are old scholars, you too have the opportunity to be part of the Old Scholars Association Committee. We meet a few times a year and work closely with the School’s Manager of Old Scholar Engagement and other staff to create a program of events and activities for our old scholar community. We are also proud to support our Old Scholars Affiliated Clubs which are currently comprised of Football, Soccer, Cricket, Netball and Rowing, as well as our choral group In U.
Our shared experiences and memories of our time at Girton, King's and/or »ÆÉ«app allow us to connect within a community of more than 17,000 old scholars spanning almost 60 countries around the globe. Our graduates work across many different professional settings, industry sectors and interest groups, and we encourage old scholars to connect with each other, no matter where we are in the world.
I passionately believe that being an old scholar of our School is about community, connections and pathways. The working relationship with our »ÆÉ«appl Principal, Mr Mark Staker is extremely strong and supportive, and we continue to look at more innovative ways to serve the School and our old scholar community.
We encourage our community members to purchase an old scholar P-cap, beanie or rugby jumper and wear them with pride! These are available online, and the profits help us to fund bursaries for students of old scholars, our annual Careers Breakfast, other old scholar events and Affiliated Clubs’ activities.
To our wonderful old scholars, please keep in touch and update your details as they change so you can learn about the latest news and events.
